One day flipping through my monster collection of gossip/ style magazines I came across this amazing article on Laura O'Neil and her husband Ben Van Leeuwen aka
Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream. Two creative people that had a dream and actually tackled it full force.

In 2008 Laura and Ben felt uncertain in their careers (Laura was an intern and Ben had just finished business school), and decided to do something unexpected; open up a organic artisan ice cream business. Getting help from friends and family, they where able to scrape together enough funds to purchase their first ice cream truck off eBay and the rest is history. Ok, so they have had quite a journey, but let's just say that New York has welcomed their product with open arms, so much in fact, that they opened up their first store front this spring of 2010 and have added 4 trucks into their routes.
The very stylish and unique couples story has been a big inspiration to me, and their shop will be at the top of my "go to" list when I visit the Big Apple. Cant wait for some hazelnut chocolate ice cream:)
